RESOLUTION CONGRATULATING GARRETT POPCORN SHOPS ON ITS 65^th ANNIVERSARY

WHEREAS, Garrett Popcorn Shops has been a Chicago tradition since 1949, celebrating 65 years in business this year; and

WHEREAS, this esteemed body has been informed of this milestone by the Honorable Robert W. Fioretti, Alderman ofthe 2^nd Ward; and

WHEREAS, over the years, Garrett Popcorn Shops has added 10 Chicago locations to the delight of generations of city residents and visitors alike; and

WHEREAS, known for its irresistible aroma, Garrett Popcorn has been a longtime favorite snack for over six decades; and

WHEREAS, expanding beyond Chicago, Garrett Popcorn Shops provides its world-wide, passionate fans the opportunity to enjoy "handcrafted happiness" around the globe, while also serving as brand ambassadors, proudly representing the City of Chicago beyond the company's hometown; and

WHEREAS, while expanding internationally, Garrett Popcorn Shops proudly and passionately continues to call Chicago its home; now therefore

BE IT RESOLVED, that we, the Mayor and members ofthe City Council ofthe City of Chicago, gathered here this eighth day of October, 2014, do declare September 18^th, 2014, as "Garrett Popcorn Shops Day" throughout Chicago in honor of its 65^th Anniversary of doing business in the City of Chicago.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a suitable copy of this resolution be prepared and presented to Garrett Popcorn.
