A City Council Resolution Honoring the Life of Lacy Lloyd Thomas
WHEREAS, Almighty God in His infinite wisdom and judgment has called Mr. Lacy Thomas, to his everlasting reward and returned to the heavenly realm on December 5, 2021; and
WHEREAS, This august Chicago City Council body has been informed of his passing by the Honorable Michelle A. Harris, Alderman of the 8th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Lacy Lloyd Thomas was born in Memphis, TN, to the union of Albert and Lucille on November 13, 1956/ At an early age, he accepted Christ as his personal savior; and
WHEREAS, He attended Calvin Coolidge Elementary School in Lansing, IL, for his foundational years of study. Lacy later attended Thornridge High School in Dolton, IL and later matriculated at Chicago State University where he earned a bachelor's degree in accounting; and
WHEREAS, Lacy's first marriage was to Margaret Allen; to this union a son, Joshua was born. Later in life, Lacy met his soul mate, Henrene Lindsay. They were married and blended their families here Lacy gained two loving children, daughter Ebonee and son Jerry; and
WHEREAS, Lacy and Henrene relocated from Chicago Illinois to Las Vegas, Nevada in 2003 and began a new life together there. Many lasting friendships and unbreakable bonds were formed there.; and
WHEREAS, Lacy's career in finance began at Deloitte Touche where he served as Senior Assistant Accountant. Within two years Lacy began to focus on healthcare institutions in Chicago, IL. From the Evangelical Health System (Financial Systems Analyst) in Michael Reese Hospital and Medical Center (Senior Accounting Analyst) to Miles Square Health Center (Assistant Vice President and Controller), Lacy positively impacted rhe bottom line of leach one. Higher education was his next stop. Lacy served as the Associate Vice chancellor for Finance and Chief Financial Officer, However, hospital settings continue to be his calling.
