RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council would like to congratulate Dr. Therese Scanlan on her Inauguration as President of Resurrection University; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of this event by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
WHEREAS, Resurrection University is home to the College of Nursing that offers undergraduate and graduate degrees and the College of Allied Health that offers undergraduate degrees in Health Information Management and Radiography; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Therese Scanlan earned her PhD in Higher Education and Organizational Change from Benedictine University, her master's degree in Public Administration from the University of Illinois at Chicago, and her bachelor of arts in Mathematics from St. Xavier University; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Therese Scanlan has held significant positions throughout the University's history, including Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer and led numerous governance, legal, construction and financial initiatives through the school's enormous period of growth; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Therese Scanlan has a vision for the University that was developed in 2016 and includes a new 14 room-state-of-the-art Foglia Family Foundation Inter-Professional Education (IPE) Simulation Learning Center, and allows nursing, radiology and health informatics and information management students the opportunity to work together on patient care teams through didactic clinical, classroom and simulation education; and
WHEREAS, In addition to her work at Resurrection University, Dr. Therese Scanlan was District Director of Student Revenue for the City Colleges of Chicago, Regional Director at the Council for Adult and Experiential Learning and Director of Financial Aid at both Devry Chicago and Governors State University; now, therefore
