RESOLUTION

 

WHERE AS, Joseph E. Goga has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of 55 to his eternal reward; and

 

WHERE AS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by the Honorable Patrick D. Thompson, Alderman of the llth Ward; and

 

WHEREAS, Joseph E. Goga, loving father of Shannon Baier arid proud grandfather of Kaelee Skye Baier and Mary Kathryn Baier; beloved son of Anita Goga and Jim (Mercedes) Goga, CPD-retired; devoted brother of Jim (Michelle) Goga, Eileen (Joe) Fogarty, Bob (Margie) Goga, CFD, Margie Goga, Karyn (Fred) Mbntijo and Cindy (late Bill) Goga; uncle of 18, great uncle of 5; as well as a good friend to many.

 

WHEREAS, Joseph was a lifelong resident of the South Side of Chicago-Canaryville neighborhood ,he was a friend to anyone who met him; He will always be remembered for his gentle spirit, a hearty laugh, an extensive vocabulary and his undeniable love of music; He also had an affinity for the color purple, earning the nickname "Grape Ape"; He loved letting his "freak flag fly", Joe worked at the Board of Trade for many years before going back to school for his massage therapy license, He took great pride in education and learning; and

 

WHEREAS, His love of life arid ability to live it to the fullest endeared Joe to his family members, friends and all who knew him, and enabled hirn to enrich their lives iri ways they will never forget; now, therefore

 

BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and members ofthe City Council ofthe City of Chicago gathered here this twenty second of July 2020, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of Joseph E. Goga and extend to his family and friends our deepest sympathy; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Joseph E. Goga.
