RESOLUTION CONGRATULATING JEWISH B2B NETWORKING ON THE BUSINESS
EVENT
A resolution adopted by the City Council ofthe City of Chicago, sponsored by Alderman Debra L. Silverstein, 50th Ward -
WHEREAS, small businesses provide more than half of all jobs in the United States and 66 percent of all net new jobs since the 1970s; and
WHEREAS, unemployment currently affects nearly 300,000 Chicago-area residents, with 6.1 percent ofthe workforce without jobs and seeking work; and
 
WHEREAS, Jewish B2B Networking, under the direction of Mr. Shalom Klein, was founded in June 2010 to connect and empower small businesses, service the needs of individuals in transition, and develop programming that has successfully brought together thousands of individuals and put over ninety two people to work in this tough economic climate; and
 
WHEREAS, Chicago's 50th Ward has a large and vibrant Jewish community, which cares strongly about employment prospects and has benefited from the programming of Jewish B2B Networking; and
 
WHEREAS, Chicago's 50th Ward has many thriving small businesses and remains committed to the economic health and development of our community; and
 
WHEREAS, Jewish B2B Networking held its fourth annual free business and employment expo, The Business Event, on October 30, 2014 - an event which drew over five thousand business networkers, one hundred vendors, and thirty employment recruiters; now, therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED, that we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, assembled this twelfth day of November, 2014, congratulate Jewish B2B Networking for its continued service to the small business community, the City of Chicago, and all of its citizens. The organization's efforts and commitment exemplify the spirit of our community and we wish it success in all its future endeavors.
