I transmit herewith, together with Aldermen Waguespack, Martin, Garza, O'Shea, Rodriguez, Villegas, Brookins, Osterman, Sposato, Coleman, Hadden, Silverstein and Dowell, a resolution honoring Michael Scott for his service as alderman of the 24th Ward.

RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the Members of this Chamber are proud to congratulate our friend and colleague, Alderman Michael Scott, Jr., on his seven years of dedicated and outstanding service to the people ofthe 24th Ward, and the City of Chicago; and
WHEREAS, Alderman Scott is a native of the North Lawndale neighborhood, where he continues to reside with his wife, Natashee, and three children: Morgan, Nicholas, and Michael III; and
WHEREAS, Alderman Scott graduated from Whitney M. Young Magnet High School in 1994 and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from Morehouse College in 1998; and
WHEREAS, Alderman Scott is the son of prominent Chicago leaders Michael Scott, Sr., the former president of the Chicago Board of Education, and Millicent Scott, former 24th Ward superintendent; and
WHEREAS, Alderman Scott previously served the Chicago Park District for 12 years, first as a Park Supervisor at the Douglass Cultural Center and later as Area Manager forthe Central Region where he managed 35 staffed and unstaffed facilities; and
WHEREAS, over the course of his career, Alderman Scott also served at the Chicago Public Schools as Citywide Sports Coordinator, the Public Building Commission, and the nonprofit organization After School Matters; and
WHEREAS, initially elected in 2015 as Alderman ofthe 24th Ward, Alderman Scott was re-elected by his constituents for an additional term in 2019; and
