RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Dr. Regnal Jones has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of 75; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Regnal Jones was the loving and devoted husband for 53 years of Angela; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Regnal Jones was the much adored father of two children and the grandfather of two to whom he imparted many of the fine and noble qualities that he possessed in abundance; and
WHEREAS, Since 1986 Dr. Regnal Jones served as the Executive Director of the Chicago Area Health and Medical Careers Program (CAHMCP) encourages minorities to enter the medical, dental and health professional schools; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Regnal Jones was a mentor to generations of African-American and Hispanic students who went on to become doctors, veterinarians, dentists, pharmacists and optometrists; and
WHEREAS, Born in the Old Town neighborhood and raised in the western suburbs, Dr. Regnal Jones earned three science degrees from the University of Chicago; and
WHEREAS, Prior to joining CAHMCP, Dr. Regnal Jones taught science at Loyola University and Chicago State University and worked as Director of Health Education and Preventative Programs for the Chicago Department of Public Health; and
WHEREAS, The hard work, sacrifice and dedication of Dr. Regnal Jones serve as an example to all; and
WHEREAS, His love of life and ability to live it to the fullest endeared to his family members, friends and all who knew him, and enabled him to enrich their lives in ways they will never forget; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Regnal Jones was an individual of great integrity and accomplishment who will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by his many relatives, friends and admirers; and
WHEREAS, To his beloved: family, Dr. Regnal Jones imparts a legacy of faithfulness, service and dignity; now, therefore
