WHEREAS, On Thursday, September 4, 2014, the Almighty God, in His infinite wisdom called George Lee Thompson to his eternal journey; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by the Honorable Lona Lane, Alderman of the 18th Ward; and
WHEREAS, George was born on July 13, 1939 in Chicago, Illinois to Lucille and James Thompson; and
WHEREAS, George was baptized at an early age and lived his life to the fullest. He attended Marshall High School and was a member of Masonic Celestial Lodge #80; and
WHEREAS, George was united in holy matrimony to Delores on October 29, 1960. To this union three children were born; Renita, Felicia and Derrick. Their vows "Till Death do Us Part" lasted for 52 and a half years until the passing of Delores; and
WHEREAS, George was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, James, David, Ronald, Jerry, Jerome, Cecil and Norman; one grandchild, Jonathan Simmons; and leaves behind to cherish his precious memories his children, Renita Kyles, Felicia (Kenneth) Simmons, Derrick Thompson, George K. Thompson, George (Yolanda) Cochran, Kalina (Eric) Simpson and Dana (Gladstone) Thomas; grandchildren, Erica Kyles, RaGena Kyles, Rhonda Kyles, Morgan Simmons, Megan, Simmons, Michelle Simmons, Latasha Thompson, Nicole Thompson, Sicily Thompson, Miguel Walker, Bertedis , Shneka Cochran, Erick Simpson, Tameah, Simpson, Gladstone Thomas, Gabrielle Thomas and McKenzie Thomas; great grandchildren, Anijayh, Payten, Ava and Lauren; siblings, Shirlee, Joseph, Thomas, Calvin (Cheryl, Amelia, Roslyn, Marie, Nancy and Francine (Derrick); sisters-in law, Darlene, Emma, Linda and Minnie; brothers-in-law, Curtis and Cleveland (Ellen); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; now, therefore,
