At the request of the Budget Director, I transmit herewith a year XLIII (43) CDBG adjustment.

Your favorable consideration of this ordinance will be appreciated.

ORDINANCE


WHEREAS, On November 16, 2016 the City Council of the City of Chicago adopted the Year XLIII Community Development Block Grant Ordinance (the "Year XLIII CDBG Ordinance"); and

WHEREAS, The City, through its Department of Family and Support Services ("DFSS"), desires to reallocate $119,925 in funding to existing Workforce Service agencies. These funds were originally awarded to Inspiration Corporation, which declined the award; and
WHEREAS, The City, through DFSS, desires to reallocate $199,203 in funding to the North Side Housing and Supportive Services. These funds were originally awarded to San Jose Obrero Mission, which declined the award due to changes in program model; and

WHEREAS, The City, through DFSS, desires to reallocate $8,000 in funding to the Salvation Army. These funds were awarded to the Coalition of Limited Speaking Elderly, which declined the award; now, therefore,


BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHICAGO:


SECTION 1. The above recitals are expressly incorporated into and made a part of this ordinance.

SECTION 2. The Year XLIII CDBG Ordinance, as amended, is hereby further amended by striking the words and figures and adding the words and figures indicated in Exhibit A attached hereto.

SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect upon its passage and approval.
