CONGRATULATIONS EXTENDED TO CHRISTINE WOO ON RETIREMENT AS A SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER AT NORTHSIDE LEARNING CENTER.
WHEREAS, Christine Woo, who began her teaching career as a special education teacher in 1974, is retiring after over 37 years with the Chicago Public Schools; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of this occasion by The Honorable Margaret Laurino, Alderman of the 39th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Christine Woo, during her career has taught special education at Paderewski Elementary School, O.A. Thorp School and for the last 30 years has taught at Northside Learning Center; and
WHEREAS, Christine Woo, together with her husband Malcolm (a retired Chicago Police Officer), has two adult children, Melissa and Bradley; and
WHEREAS, Christine Woo, can take pride in the Community-based programs that she helped develop at Northside Learning Center and all of the students that have benefited from them; and
WHEREAS, The leaders of this great City of Chicago are cognizant of the great debt owed our Special Education Teachers; now therefore,
Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, gathered here this eighth day of June, 2011, do hereby express our gratitude and heartiest congratulations to Christine Woo as she retires and we extend to this fine citizen our very best wishes for continuing success and.fulfillment; and
Be It Further Resolved, That a suitable copy of this resolution be prepared and presented to Christine Woo.
