MEMORIAL RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that members of this Chamber learned of the death of the Honorable Frank R. Petrone, on February 1, 2016, at the age of ninety-five; and
WHEREAS, The City Council has been informed of his passing by The Honorable Margaret Laurino, Alderman of the 39th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Born on December 31, 1920, the Honorable Frank R. Petrone was the beloved husband of the late Theresa, nee Munari; treasured father of Anthony, Angela, Lucille, Elena (James) Petrone-Balcer, and Frank; cherished grandfather of Mary Teresa (Thomas) Hyland and Frank; loving brother of the late Joseph (the late Lucretia), the late Mary (the late William) Clark, the late Rose (the late Richard) Dana and Anthony D. (the late Patricia); dear uncle and esteemed friend to all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Frank leaves a legacy of faith, compassion, dignity and love; and
WHEREAS, Frank, a Veteran of the United States Army, was a World War II Decorated Captain, 10th Mountain Division. The Honorable Frank R. Petrone was a Judge with the Circuit Court of Cook County until his retirement; and
WHEREAS, Frank, an active and vital member of his community, touched the lives of all who knew him through his kindness, generosity and spirit, making him a truly unforgettable person. He will be deeply missed, but the memory of his smile, caring spirit, enduring patience, thoughtfulness, and compassion will live on in those who knew and loved him, now, therefore.
Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and members ofthe City Council of the City of Chicago gathered here this tenth day of February, 2016, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of the Honorable Frank R. Petrone and express to his family and friends our deepest sympathy; and
Be It Further Resolved, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family ofthe Honorable Frank R. Petrone as a token of our honor, gratitude, and respect.
