RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The Archbishop Quigley Council #2428 ofthe Knights of Columbus officially celebrated its 100^th Anniversary at St. Barbara Catholic Church on January 14, 2023; and

WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed ofthis anniversary by Alderwoman Nicole T. Lee; and

WHEREAS, The Knights of Columbus is a worldwide Catholic organization founded on the principles of charity, unity, and fraternity in 1882; and

WHEREAS, Council #2428 was formed on January 14, 1923 and is comprised of a small, tight core of members who consistently embrace its mission of active and prayerful service; and

WHEREAS, Council #2428 continues to carry out its mission by sponsoring food and clothing drives, providing special prayer services, and sponsoring an annual Keep Christ in Christmas Art Contest at St. Therese Catholic School; and

WHEREAS, The stewardship, sacrifice, and charitable endeavors of Council #2428 serve as an example to all; now, therefore

BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members ofthe Chicago City Council, assembled this eighteenth day of January, 2023, do hereby congratulate the Archbishop Quigley Council #2428 of the Knights of Columbus on the occasion of its 100^th Anniversary and do hereby express our gratitude to its membership for their philanthropic service; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy ofthis resolution be presented to the Archbishop Quigley Council #2428 ofthe Knights of Columbus.
