RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Francis P. "Frank" O'Connor has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of 78; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
WHEREAS, Beloved husband of Kathleen (nee Gilchrist) for 50 years, loving father of Sheila, Maureen (Michael) Malloy, and Daniel (Jennifer) O'Connor, devoted grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to many; and
WHEREAS, Frank was born in Chicago and was an alumnus of Mount Carmel High School where he volunteered in the school's security office; and
WHEREAS, Frank was an army veteran and a member ofthe Chicago Fire Department for 40 years and retired as a battalion chief; and
WHEREAS, As a battalion chief, Frank was in charge of roughly twenty percent of the fire department daily; and
WHEREAS, In addition to his devotion for his family and the fire department, Frank had a love for his ancestral home of Ireland and loved to cook and show off his great culinary skills; and
WHEREAS, To his beloved family, Frank P. O'Connor imparts a legacy of faithfulness, service and dignity; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members ofthe Chicago City Council, assembled this Sixteenth day of December, 2020, do hereby commemorate Frank P. O'Connor for his grace-filled life and do hereby express our condolences to his family; and
