CONGRATULATION MRS. BIRDIA CLAYTON-WOODS


WHEREAS, Mrs. Birdia Clayton-Woods, surrounded by family and friends, will celebrate the joyful occasion of her 70th Birthday on November 5, 2018; and
WHEREAS, It is with great pleasure that the City Council ofthe City of Chicago is hereby informed of this special by the Honorable Jason Ervin, Alderman of the 28th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Life is a blessing for an individual and for a community which benefits from the charity, knowledge, and experiences this individual brings to all; and
WHEREAS, The 28th Ward in the City of Chicago recognizes with respect and admiration the contribution of wise women in our community; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Birdia Clayton-Woods was born in Carthage, MS on November 5, 1948. She moved to Chicago, IL and has lived there for the majority of her life. Many describe her as "Aunt B,v someone who aims to be nice, offers help to others, and makes some of the best food on this side of heaven. She is also described by others as being humble, grateful, having an awesome heart, and is a good listener and friend, and;
WHEREAS, Mrs. Birdia Clayton-Woods is a woman of great faith who loves her church family at Mercy Seat Missionary Baptist Church in Chicago, IL and has been a member there since 1969. She has been a minister of help for years; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Birdia Clayton-Woods has raised her son Julian Clayton, her niece Dora Clayton-Jones, her nephew Larry Apata, and her niece Jammie Clayton and covered them all with love. Mrs. Birdia Clayton-Woods married James Woods since 2006 and has loved him and been a devoted wife; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Birdia Clayton-Woods was a Nursery school teacher at Midwest Nazarene nursery school from 1970 to 1971, and employee of Florsheim shoe company from 1971 to 1973, and employee for the Chicago Public Schools from 1973 to 1976 as a food service assistant, and employee with Brach's Candy from 1978 to 1985, and employee for M & M Mars from 1985 to 2000, and an employee for Oak Park...
