CONGRATULATIONS EXTENDED TO JACQUALINE "JACKIE" KOSTRZEWA ON INDUCTION IN THE 2018 CHICAGO SENIOR HALL OF FAME.
WHEREAS, Jacqualine "Jackie" Kostrzewa, well known for her volunteer work with the North Mayfair Improvement Association, has been inducted into the 2018 Chicago Senior Citizen Hall of Fame on May 30, 2018; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of this significant occasion by the Honorable Margaret Laurino, Alderman of the 39th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Jackie Kostrzewa, a dedicated and respected resident of the North Mayfair community for the past 77 years, epitomizes the spirit of community involvement with her volunteer work. Never content to watch from the sidelines, she served as an officer with the North Mayfair Improvement Association, as an active volunteer at community and Chicago river cleanups, and as an organizer of neighborhood events such as the Mayfair Fourth of July parades; and
WHEREAS, Jackie has been involved in the 17th Police District CAPS Program for decades, volunteering for a number of programs including Hooked on Fishing, National Night Out, the Child Identification Program, the District Advisory Committee and currently serves as the co-chair for the 17th District Senior Organization; and
WHEREAS, Jackie Kostrzewa's work, passion, and generous spirit has increased community involvement from neighbors and her enthusiasm for service encourages people of all ages to get involved, and
WHEREAS, North Mayfair and 39th Ward residents are proud of and grateful for the work Jackie has accomplished over the years. However, no one is prouder of Jackie than her family: children, John, Jean, Karen and Suzie, and grandchildren, Courtney, Jonathan, Anthony, Christopher, and Collette, now, therefore,
