MEMORIAL RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that members of this Chamber learned of the death of Richard R. Kunicki, on January 8, 2014, at the age of sixty-six; and
WHEREAS, The City Council has been informed of his passing by The Honorable Margaret Laurino, Alderman ofthe 39th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Born on April 13,1947, Richard was the beloved husband of Mary Anne, nee Palm; loving father of Lauren, David and Leah Kunicki; fond son of Anthony and the late Mary Zlobnicki; dear brother of Eileen Kunicki, Victor Kunicki and Christine Gibbons; cherished brother-in-law of Carol Anne, John, Patricia, Michael, Rita Anne, Sue, Kathy and the late Larry; loving uncle and friend to all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Richard leaves a legacy of faith, compassion, dignity and love; and
WHEREAS, Richard, a former Chicago Police Officer and Deputy Commissioner, Department of Aviation, of the City of Chicago upheld the finest and most noble traditions of public service. He was an active and vital member of his community who touched the lives of all who knew him through his kindness, generosity, heart and spirit.
WHEREAS, Richard will be deeply missed, but the memory of his character, intelligence and compassion will live on in those who knew and loved him; now, therefore,
Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and members ofthe City Council ofthe City of Chicago, gathered here this fifth day of February, 2014, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of Richard R. Kunicki and extend to his family and friends our deepest sympathy; and
Be It Further Resolved, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Richard R. Kunicki.
