MEMORIAL RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, In His infinite wisdom, God has granted eternal rest to Helen Louise Trice, Saturday, August 17,2013, at the age of eighty-three; and
WHEREAS, Helen Louise Trice was born February 11, 1930 in Chicago to her loving parents, Louise Walker and Arthur Trice. She and her nine siblings brought much laughter into the Trice Family home. Helen was a graduate of DuSable High School; and
WHEREAS, Helen met and married Jerome Carrington, Sr. They were blessed with the birth of their two loving sons, Jerome and Phillip. Helen was united in marriage, years later, to her second husband, Elbert McCain Jr. and three loving children, Elbert III, Vanessa and Ricardo were born to share in the family's happiness; and
WHEREAS, Helen was employed at Spiegel's Catalog and later she worked at Western Electric. She was a vital and dedicated employee of Western Electric for thirty years. Her suggestion to the CEO of Western Electric saved the company over $133,000.00 the first year. Helen was given $10,000.00 for her idea; and
WHEREAS, During her time at Western Electric, Helen befriended Marlene Brundrige and Ruby Wash, who remained friends until her transition; and
WHEREAS, Helen's legacy is her family. She enjoyed spending time with her children. Helen would be jumping rope, playing softball, bouncing a basketball or playing hopscotch with her children and their friends. Helen was also a loving and dotting grandmother who always enjoyed every moment she spent with her grandchildren. Whether it was going to the movies with them, the Ice Capades shows, the beach, picnics, parks or any of their sporting events, Helen and her grandchildren always had fun and shared much laughter. Helen was especially close to her grandsons, Damone and Donnell Jr., and her granddaughter, Latrice. Anthony, Helen's other grandson, lived with her until her death. Helen was also blessed to be able to see and spend time with her great grandchildren; and
