MEMORIAL RESOLUTION
 
WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that members of this Chamber learned of the death of Mary E. Dolan, nee Schultz, on July 9, 2014 at the age of eighty; and
 
WHEREAS, The City Council has been informed of her passing by The Honorable Margaret Laurino, Alderman of the 39th Ward; and
 
WHEREAS, Mary was born on November 18, 1933, daughter of the late Raymond H. Schultz; the beloved wife of the late Robert J. Dolan; loving mother of Kate (Bill) Guida, Mar, Mike, Pat (Jill) and Nanc; special grandmother of Ross and Desiree Guida, Sara and Ryan Dolan; her precious nana, late Julia Jackson; dear cousin of Patsie Blozvich; cherished sister-in-law of the late Francis "Tony" and Joseph Nolan; niece of the late Eva Cavter;; cherished companion Teddy; a generous and caring friend to all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Mary leaves a legacy of faith, dignity and love; and
 
WHEREAS, Mary was a woman who could look through the forest and see the trees. Her passion in life was her family, being a Mom and Grandma. She was also an avid Chicago Bears fan and a daily letter writer; and
 
WHEREAS, An active and vital member of her community, Mary touched the lives of all who knew her through her kindness, her generosity, her heart and her spirit. She will be deeply missed, but the memory of her character, intelligence and compassion will live on in those who knew and loved her; now, therefore,
 
Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago gathered here this thirtieth day of July 2014, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of Mary E. Dolan and express to her family and friends our deepest sympathy; and
 
Be It Further Resolved, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Mary E. Dolan as a token of our honor, gratitude, and respect.
