WHEREAS, Father Krzysztof (Kris) Janczak, Pastor of St. Richard's parish, will be leaving to begin his new assignment at St. Thomas of Villanova parish in Palatine, Illinois and will deliver his farewell mass on June 23, 2019; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his departure by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
WHEREAS, Father Krzysztof (Kris) Janczak, the son of Maria Szklarczyk and the late Josef Janczak was born in Wadowic, Poland and completed his elementary and high school education and seminary studies in Krakow, a center of Catholic culture in Poland; and
WHEREAS, Father Krzysztof (Kris) Janczak emigrated to the United States and studied the English language at Bishop Abramovitz Seminary for one year; and
WHEREAS, Father Krzysztof (Kris) Janczak graduated from the University of St. Mary on the Lake in Mundelein in 2005 with a Master of Divinity Degree; and
WHEREAS, Father Krzysztof (Kris) Janczak received the Sacrament of Holy Orders from Cardinal George at Holy Name Cathedral May 21, 2005; and
WHEREAS, before beginning his work at St. Richard's parish, the Chicago Archdiocese assigned Father Krzysztof (Kris) Janczak to St. John Brebeuf, parish in Niles, Illinois where he served as Associate Pastor for seven years; and
WHEREAS, in the belief that "Communication and the arts are powerful ways to reach whole sections of society that are looking for value and understanding," which he so eloquently stated, Father Krzysztof (Kris) Janczak became pastor of St. Richard's Parish in 2005 and imbued the congregation with this powerful message of hope; and
WHEREAS, passionate in all he does, Father Krzysztof (Kris) Janczak priesthood has been a testament to the grace, understanding, faithfulness and inspiration he has imparted to his parishioners; and
WHEREAS, his good work will live on long after he has left St. Richard's, now, therefore
