RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Guillermo "Bill" Perez was born on April 24, 1938 and will be celebrating his eighty-first birthday with family and friends; and,
WHEREAS, Influenced by the writings of Mark V. Hansen and Joe Batten, authors of "The Master Motivator," who dared readers to write their own 200 victories during their life since birth, Bill Perez took the challenge and surpassed the goal, and to date, continues adding personal victories to his list; and,
WHEREAS, Bill Perez has compiled an impressive list of victories during his lifetime, with his family, education, personal and spiritual growth, work, and the arts, all which are too numerous to list; and,
WHEREAS, However, some of his "victories in his life" highlights include: graduated with -honors from both elementary and high school with honors (High School Salutatorian) at De La Salle High School (Christian Brothers) after learning English perfectly at the age of seventeen in ten weeks; and,
WHEREAS, At the University of Illinois, Bill Perez was the President of the Spanish Club, member of the YMCA debate team, and founded "Los Cumbancheros," the first Latin band at the university. He finished college (BS in Mathematics) at Roosevelt University and wrote the thesis "Behavior of the London-Maxwell Equations in Cryogenics" for his degree; and,
WHEREAS, Bill Perez received his Master's Degree in Mathematics from DePaul University. He taught mathematics part-time at various universities for 40 years. He was a Math Research Analyst for Illinois Bell Telephone Co., Computer Consultant for a large software company, and Data Processing Supervisor for Canteen Corp. Bill was also the Finance Director for the Chicago Board of Elections, Deputy Computer Manager for the Illinois Attorney General, and Supervisor for the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Cook County; and,
