RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Lawrence E. Morrissey has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and '
WHEREAS, Lawrence E. Morrissey was a widely admired member of the legal community and the loving husband for 48 years of Kathleen, nee Landreman; and
WHEREAS, Lawrence E. Morrissey was the much-adored father of Dr. Lawrence, Charles and William and the grandfather of twelve to whom he imparted many of the fine and noble qualities that he possessed in abundance; and
WHEREAS, A native of Joliet. Lawrence E. Morrissey graduated from the University of Illinois and the John Marshall Law School; and
WHEREAS, Lawrence E. Morrissey began his legal career as an Assistant United States Attorney for the Northern District of Illinois and in 1967 was appointed to head its Organized Crime and Racketeering section; and
WHEREAS, In 1974 Lawrence E. Morrissey founded his own law firm in downtown Chicago while working at the Joliet law firm of O'Brien, Garrison, Berard & Kusta where he honed his civil litigation skills; and
WHEREAS, During his long and illustrious career in private practice, Lawrence E. Morrissey represented defendants in numerous government probes; and
WHEREAS, The hard work, sacrifice and dedication of Lawrence E. Morrissey serve as an example to all; and
WHEREAS, His love of life and ability to live it to the fullest endeared Lawrence E. Morrissey to his family members, friends and all who-knew him, and enabled him to enrich their lives in ways they will never forget; and
WHEREAS, Lawrence E. Morrissey was an individual of great integrity and accomplishment who will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by his many relatives, friends and admirers; and
WHEREAS, To his beloved family, Lawrence E. Morrissey imparts a legacy of faithfulness, service and dignity; now, therefore
