RESOLUTION


WHEREAS, The Honorable Chester "Chet" Rybicki has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of ninety-six; and

WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and

WHEREAS, The Honorable Chester "Chet" Rybicki was a widely admired Naperville civic leader and the loving husband for sixty-one years of the late Lillian; and

WHEREAS, The Honorable Chester "Chet" Rybicki was the much-adored father of Michael, John and Cheryl, the grandfather of five and the great­grandfather of two to whom he imparted many of the fine and noble qualities that he possessed in abundance; and

WHEREAS, The Honorable Chester "Chet" Rybicki served his country in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II; and

WHEREAS, A native of Chicago, the Honorable Chester "Chet" Rybicki settled in Naperville in 1960 where he entered politics and became a highly influential member of his community; and

WHEREAS, As Mayor of Naperville from 1975 to 1983, the Honorable Chester "Chet" Rybicki played an instrumental role in establishing the suburb's Riverwalk and revitalizing its downtown; and

WHEREAS, The Honorable Chester "Chet" Rybicki's years of public service also included his work as a member of the Naperville Plan Commission, Naperville Public Library Board, YMCA Board and Rotary Club; and

WHEREAS, The hard work, sacrifice and dedication of the Honorable Chester "Chet" Rybicki serve as an example to all; and

WHEREAS, His love of life and ability to live it to the fullest endeared the Honorable Chester "Chet" Rybicki to his family members, friends and all who knew him, and enabled him to enrich their lives in ways they will never forget; and

WHEREAS, To his beloved family, the Honorable Chester "Chet" Rybicki imparts a legacy of faithfulness, service and dignity; now, therefore
