RESOLUTION HONORING 20th ANNIVERARY OF LITTLEROCK CONSTRUCTION
WHEREAS, Dina Petrakis is celebrating twenty successful and fruitful years as the owner of Littlerock Construction, Inc., in Chicago's Wicker Park neighborhood
WHEREAS, Alderman Robert Fioretti ofthe 2nd Ward and Alderman Scott Waguespack of the 32nd Ward have apprised this body of this noteworthy milestone; and
WHEREAS, with ten years' experience in managing construction projects for developers, and having overseen the construction of several new homes built, and many renovations completed, Ms. Petrakis began her business after seeing a need for comprehensive restoration of buildings rather than allowing architectural treasures to fall to the wrecking ball; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Petrakis developed the concept of "Renovation Coaching" as she worked with property owners to preserve and restore the integrity and beauty of buildings in Chicago; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Petrakis has continually demonstrated a commitment to respecting, preserving and restoring architectural treasures and has had a direct hand in shaping the aesthetics of many neighborhoods in Chicago; and
WHEREAS, in addition to her work as a business owner, Ms. Petrakis is an active community member and has received accolades for her work as a photographer, especially for her photographic essay, "A Year in Humboldt Park"; and
WHEREAS, through her remarkable ability to see and communicate new possibilities for modernizing Chicago's historic housing stock while preserving its best features, Ms. Petrakis has come to embody the slogan of Littlerock Construction, "Diana Gets It Done"; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, that we the mayor and members of the City Council of Chicago, gathered here this ll'day of December 2013, do hereby congratulate Dina Petrakis and Littlerock Construction on their 20th anniversary.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a suitable copy of this resolution be prepared and
presented to Dina Petrakis. ^
