RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Margaret G. Collins has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of 95; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of her passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
WHEREAS, Margaret is survived by her thirteen children, Caeli, Judie, John (Debbie nee Burke), Kevin (Kate nee Nolan), Meg (the late Jeff] Breit, Paul (Cindy nee Boyce), Nora (Mark Boyich), Mary (Brian) Sullivan, Tim (Kelly nee Kyle], Kyle (Alice nee Brophy], Jimbo, Jeanne (Tom) Mahay, Jason (Christine nee Coglianese), twenty-four grandchildren, and twenty-one greatgrandchildren; and
WHEREAS, Margaret was born in Chicago to George and Margaret Grafer, the oldest sibling of nine; and
WHEREAS, Recently of Midlothian, IL, Margaret was a long-time resident of Chicago, IL; and
WHEREAS, She worked in the banking industry as a supervisor in the proof operating division; and
WHEREAS, On January 28,1950, she married John Joseph Collins with whom she spent the next 43 years of her life raising their thirteen children in Sacred Heart and St. Thomas More parishes; and
WHEREAS, Margaret was a committed mother and avid reader; and
WHEREAS, She loved to attend any and all sporting events for her children, grandchildren, and greatgrandchildren; and
WHEREAS, To her beloved family, Margaret G. Collins imparts a legacy of faithfulness, service and dignity; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members of the Chicago City Council, assembled this twenty-third day of June, 2021, do hereby commemorate Margaret G. Collins for her grace-filled life and do hereby express our condolences to her family; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Margaret G. Collins
