WHEREAS, The members of this City Council Chamber were deeply saddened to} learn of the passing of Rosetta Gadlen on October 5, 2013, an outstanding citizen of th ยป Austin community in Chicago, by 37th Ward Alderman Emma Mitts. Recently, Rc >etta Gadlen finished her race as a strong Christian woman of faith and has ascended receive her crown of righteousness in the hallowed halls of heaven.

WHEREAS, Rosetta Gadlen, known to everyone as the family's "Super Soul Sistir' was born into existence on July 3,1949 in Darien, Georgia to Bennie and Louise $loan, one of the children born of this loving union; and

WHEREAS, Rosetta Gadlen received her strong sense of spiritual direction from Christ at an early age. Further, Rosetta had an unwavering faith in God and was a steadfast member of Saint Stephen A.M.E. Church for 44 years.

WHEREAS, Rosetta joined the Usher Board and served as board president, zonk recording secretary, zone financial secretary, zone junior supervisor, state financ al secretary, and state board member and was currently serving as chairperson of tie Board of Director's for the State of Illinois; and

WHEREAS, Ruthie was a long-time resident of the 37th Ward for over twenty-one years, who in retirement, happily indulged in her favorite pastime of cooking fanfc meals for her family and friends; and
