MEMORIAL RESOLUTION
 
WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that members of this Chamber learned of the death of Dionisio Cuisia (Diony/Johnny), on December 12, 2013, at the age of seventy-five; and
 
WHEREAS, The City Council has been informed of his passing by The Honorable Margaret Laurino, Alderman of the 39th Ward; and
 
WHEREAS, Born on December 8, 1937, Diony who leaves a legacy of faith, dignity and love, was the loving husband of Luningning A. Cuisia; beloved father of Daniel and Dennis Cuisia of Mississauga, Ontario; Donna Deck of St. Louis, Missouri; and Derek Cuisia of Chicago; proud grandfather of ten grandchildren; and
 
WHEREAS, Diony was a member of the PMG Club, the Philippine Engineer and Scientists Organization (PESO) and the Filipino League of Golfers; he had been a chemical engineer for Dearborn Chemical Company, a division of W.R. Grace for over thirty years and held twenty-six patents in boiler water treatment innovations; finishing his career in the early part of 2013 as an analyst for Gallagher Bassett Services, Inc.; and
 
WHEREAS, An active and vital member of his community, Diony will be deeply missed, but the memory of his character, intelligence and compassion will live on in those who knew and loved him; now, therefore,
 
Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, gathered here this fifteenth day of January 2014, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of Dionisio Cuisia and extend to his family and friends our deepest sympathy; and
 
Be It Further Resolved, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Dionisio Cuisia.
