Memorial Resolution
WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that members of this Chamber learned of the death of Joseph R. Nora, M.D., at the age of eighty-six; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has been informed of his passing by The Honorable Margaret Laurino, Alderman of the 39th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Nora was preceded in death by his beloved wife Dorothea (nee Brodbeck) Nora; his brothers Ernest, M.D. (the late Carol, R.N.) Nora, Gerald, M.D. (the late Patricia, R.N.) Nora, and Paul, M.D. (the late Valerie) Nora; as well as his sisters Grace (the late Edward) Donellan and Marjorie (the late Robert) Martinez; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Nora was a loving father of Joseph, M.D. (Nancy), Michael, John, M.D. (Joyce), Larry (Judy), Matthew, M.D. (Joanne, R.N.), Daniel (Karla), and Mindy, M.D. (Mark) Mullins, Claudia (John) Gatti and Kevin Mary (Robert Yardley) Callans, R.N.; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Nora was a proud grandfather of Mike, Bridget, Patrick, Joey, Jimmy, Anne, Kaleen, Jackie, Jeannie, Ian, Spencer, Lawrence, Peter, Luke, Emily, Mary Grace, Mimi, Matt, Paul, Andrew, Jack, Olivia, Elena, Tom, Maddie, and Isabelle; as well as a fond uncle to many nieces, nephews, and godchildren; now, therefore,
Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago gathered here this fifth day of November, 2014, do hereby express our sorrows on the death of Joseph R. Nora, M.D., and express to his family and friends our deepest sympathies; and
Be It Further Resolved, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Joseph R. Nora, M.D., as a token of our honor, love, and respect.
