RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, God in His infinite wisdom has called Richard R. Carmichael to his eternal reward; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by the Honorable Marty Quinn, Alderman ofthe 13th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Richard R. Carmichael, age 67, of St. John, formerly of Griffith, passed away Thursday, January 23, 2014. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Ruth; two sons: Ross Carmichael and Grant (Aimee) Carmichael; sister, Diane Harvey; niece, Emily (Trevor) Smith; lifelong friend, Terry (Janet) Crowe; and other beloved family and friends. Mr. Carmichael was preceded in death by his parents: Phil and Dorothy Carmichael; and grandparents: Thomas and Theresa Williams. Mr. Carmichael was a retired Social Worker with the State of Indiana with 25 years of service. He also was employed during retirement at Van Senus Auto Parts in Highland with 10 years of service. Mr. Carmichael was an avid Cubs fan, reader, and historian. Richard R. Carmichael leaves a legacy of faith, dignity, compassion and love; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and members ofthe Chicago City Council gathered here this fifth day of February, 2014, hereby express our sorrow on the death of Richard R. Carmichael and extend to his family and friends our deepest sympathy.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy be presented to the family of Richard R. Carmichael.
