HONORING EDDIE MAE HOWLEIT ON HER 91st BIRTHDAY
WHEREAS, Eddie Mae Howleit will be honored by friends and relatives on July 16, 2022 in celebration of her recent 91st birthday on July 14, 2022; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of this milestone by the Honorable Jason Ervin, Alderman ofthe 28th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Eddie Mae Johnston was born in Burdett, Arkansas on July 14, 1931; and
WHEREAS, Eddie Mae married Elbon Howleit on November 20, 1948 and they migrated to Chicago, IL in 1950, where they remained happily married for 29 years until Elbon's death; and
WHEREAS, Eddie Mae and Elbon were blessed with 12 children, and she is the most beloved and proud grandmother of 47 grandchildren, 116 great-grandchildren, and 30 great-great grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, Eddie Mae lived and worked in the City and Chicagoland area for near 70 years, working nearly 35 of those years as both a front line health care worker and a front line preschool educator, until her retirement over 20 years ago; and
WHEREAS, Eddie Mae has always enjoyed meeting people and taking part in community activities, especially those involving her faith and her family or when helping others through difficult times; and
WHEREAS, Eddie Mae is a loving mother, sister, friend, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother, and she is cherished by her family and friends, and has been a model and inspiration to her family and to all those who have known her; now therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, gathered here this twentieth day of July, 2022, do hereby congratulate Eddie Mae Howleit on her 91st birthday, and wish her continued happiness, prosperity, and success in all of her future endeavors; and
