RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, During her 34 years of dedicated service to the City of Chicago, Yvona (Toni) Dixon served with tremendous dedication, fierce loyalty, a sunny disposition and integrity; and
WHEREAS, Toni Dixon has been an exemplary employee, holding the position of Project Administrator in the Office of the City Clerk for most of her esteemed tenure; and
WHEREAS, Raised on the South Side, the eldest of three daughters, Toni Dixon graduated from Chicago Vocational High School and worked in the private sector before joining the City Clerk's Office on July 19,1982; and
WHEREAS, While many Clerks came and went during her 34 years of service, Toni Dixon steadily held together the Office, becoming an institution within the institution, working in the administrations of Chicago City Clerks Walter Kozubowski, Ernest Wish, James Laski, Miguel Del Valle, and finally Susana A. Mendoza; and
WHEREAS, Toni Dixon's institutional knowledge proved invaluable to each of these City Clerks and their administrations; and
WHEREAS, Toni Dixon worked tirelessly to provide quality service, with a smile, to generations of Chicagoans, and had close relationships with each of her coworkers, colleagues, Aldermen and fellow city workers; and
WHEREAS, During her time as a Project Administrator, Toni not only provided her immense knowledge and wisdom, but she gave her entire self to each and every interaction, ensuring her place in the heart of everyone she came into contact with; and
WHEREAS, City Clerk Susana A. Mendoza has said that the reason she ran for City Clerk was so that she could work with Toni Dixon; and
WHEREAS, Toni Dixon was a vital part of City Clerk Susana A. Mendoza's team and will be greatly missed by both the staff and the customers in City Hall's Room 107; and
WHEREAS, On November 30, 2016, Toni Dixon concluded her service as a Project Administrator in the Office of the City Clerk; now, therefore,
