RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, Lenora M. Austin has announced her retirement from the Hyde Park Chamber of Commerce after 5 years; and

WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of her retirement by Alderman William D. Burns; and

WHEREAS, previous to her 5 years of service to the Hyde Park Chamber of Commerce, she spent 30 years with Chicago Public Schools as a teacher, administrator, and principal; and

WHEREAS, Lenora is long standing member of the Hyde Park-Kenwood Community Conference; and

WHEREAS, Ms. Austin has served on the Board of Directors of the Blue Gargoyle Youth Service Center as well as on the Parish Council at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church; now therefore

BE IT RESOLVED, that we, the Mayor and members of the Chicago City Council assemble this eighth day of July 2011, do hereby congratulate Lenora M. Austin on her retirement from the Hyde Park Chamber of Commerce as well as the many years of service to the Chicago Public. Schools and do hereby express our best wishes for her continued happiness success and achievement; and,

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Lenora M. Austin.
