WHEREAS, On Sunday, January 18, 2015, the Almighty God, in His infinite wisdom called Ronda L. Wheeler to her eternal journey; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of her passing by the Honorable Lona Lane, Alderman of the 18th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Ronda was bom on February 24, 1963 in Chicago, Illinois she was the sixth of seven children born to Ronald Lee and Archie Mae Wheeler; and
WHEREAS, Ronda graduated from Dunbar Vocational High School and attended Chicago State University where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. Ronda enjoyed working with young children and their families. In recent years, Ronda was trained as a Clinical Massage Therapist providing massage therapy to family, friends, hospital patients and athletes; and
WHEREAS, Ronda loved the Lord, she searched the scriptures diligently and she faithfully participated in the family's prayer line. She was definitely Archie Mae's child as she shared many of the same qualities as her mother. She was the family communicator and the glue that held the family together. She always delighted at the mention of her two sons Curtis and Kai; and
WHEREAS, Ronda was preceded in death by her loving mother, Archie Mae Wheeler; and leaves behind to cherish her precious memories, her two sons, Curtis Kenyatta Jackson Jr. and Kai Will Simpkins; Kai's father and Ronda's special friend, Elzee Simpkins; father, Ronald Lee Wheeler Sr.; six siblings, Dorothy Jean Harrison, Mary Ann Harrison, Mildred Wheeler Ebietomiye, Delores Louise Wheeler, Ronald Lee Wheeler Jr. (Gwendolyn), Roxane Lorraine Wheeler; nine nieces and nephews; Elliot Preston, Nicole Latrice, Earl Kenneth and Sherry Lisa Harrison, Ramon Norwood, Ayodele Michael Ebietomiye, Malcolm Clayton Brown, Jason D. Miller (Haniyah), Jennifer Renee Young (LeVar), ten great nieces and nephews and a host of family and friends; now, therefore,
