RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Steven Holler, a widely admired public servant, has officially announced that he will be leaving the City of Chicago Law Department after fourteen years to join the Loyola University of Chicago as a staff attorney effective December 27, 2012; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of this change by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
WHEREAS, In 1990 Steven Holler graduated from the University of Chicago Law School; and
WHEREAS, In 1998 Steven Holler joined the City of Chicago Law Department as a member of the Finance Division and, among other achievements, worked to create, document and close the CHA Plan For Transformation projects and negotiated, drafted and closed numerous TIF redevelopment agreements, historic preservation and adaptive reuse projects; and
WHEREAS, In 2004 Steven Holler was appointed Chief Assistant for the City of Chicago Law Department, Real Estate Division, and then, in 2007, became Deputy Corporation Counsel for the City of Chicago; and
WHEREAS, In those capacities Steven Holler supervised the legal aspects and closing of all City land sales, acquisitions, condemnations, zoning matters, and public way matters, including obtaining necessary City Council approvals for projects.; and
WHEREAS, Steven Holler documented and implemented the $165 million Neighborhood Stabilization Program, the Block 37 redevelopment, the Exelon Solar Panel project and the Salvation Army Kroc Center; and
WHEREAS, Steven Holler negotiated major planned developments for the USX, Ryerson Steel and Lake Meadows sites.; and
WHEREAS, Steven Holler was a key part of the team working to win the 2016 Olympic bid for the City of Chicago; and
WHEREAS, Steven Holler was instrumental in arranging for the Rosehill Cemetery Nature Park arranging for the Bloomingdale Trail; and
WHEREAS, The hard work, sacrifice and dedication of Steven Holler serve as an example to all; now, therefore
