RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The City of Chicago and the members of its esteemed diplomatic community are privileged to bid a fond farewell to Paulina Kapuscinska who has served with distinction as the Consul General of the Republic of Poland since 2012;and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of this auspicious event by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
WHEREAS, As the representative of the Republic of Poland, Paulina Kapuscinska oversaw the Chicago consular district which boasts the largest number of Polish-Americans and Poles in the United States; and
WHEREAS, A native of Warsaw, Paulina Kapuscinska began her professional career as a journalist and became Assistant Press Spokesman for the Chancellery ofthe Prime Minister in 1999; and
WHEREAS, In 2002 Paulina Kapuscinska began work with the Foreign Ministry's Department ofthe European Union and Accession Negotiations; and
WHEREAS, In 2004 Paulina Kapuscinska joined the staff of the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Los Angles, California, where she was named Consul General in 2007; and
WHEREAS, In her role as Consul General, Paulina Kapuscinska has fostered a greater and deeper understanding with all nations; and
WHEREAS, The hard work, sacrifice and dedication of Paulina Kapuscinska serve as an example to all; and
WHEREAS, Paulina Kapuscinska is a widely recognized member of the diplomatic community who is richly deserving of our admiration and respect; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members of the Chicago City Council, assembled this tenth day of February, 2016, do hereby extend our most sincere gratitude to Paulina Kapuscinska for her tireless service as the Consul General of the Republic of Poland in Chicago and do hereby express our best wishes for her continued success and achievement; and
