Resolution
Whereas, Joseph Thomas Varallo Sr. departed this present life on August 17, 2014; and
Whereas, The City Council has been notified of his passing by The Honorable Harry Osterman, Alderman of the 48th Ward; and
Whereas, Joseph Thomas Varallo Sr. served in the U.S. Navy 6th Fleet in the Mediterranean in the 1950s. He also had a career in marketing and sales, and spent the last years of his life fund-raising for wounded veterans; and
Whereas, Joseph Thomas Varallo Sr. was an active and vital member of his community. Joseph Thomas Varallo Sr. spent most of his life living in the Edgewater Beach neighborhood enjoying the beach and all Chicago and Edgewater have to offer. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved, that we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, gathered here this day of October 8, 2014, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of Joseph Thomas Varallo Sr. and extend to his family and friends our deepest sympathy; and
Be it further resolved, that a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Joseph Thomas Varallo Sr.
