CONGRATULATIONS EXTENDED TO ROBERTMADIAR ON HIS RETIREMENT FROM THE
EDGEBROOK CHAMBER OF COMMERCE
WHEREAS, Robert C. Madiar has retired from his position Executive Director of the Edgebrook Chamber of Commerce; and
WHEREAS, The City Council has been informed of this occasion by Alderman Margaret Laurino, 39th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Bob began his public service with the City of Chicago's Department of Economic Development and then went on to the Department of Planning. He retired from the Department of Planning in 2004 after dedicating over thirty years of service to the citizens of the City of Chicago; and
WHEREAS, During his years of service with the City of Chicago, Bob was one of the leaders of the TIF Program responsible for creating fifty TIF Districts. Among his numerous accomplishments are seven downtown TIF redevelopment projects, UIC - Roosevelt/Halsted redevelopment project and United Airlines at O'Hare Field and the entire redevelopment; and
WHEREAS, In 2005, Bob accepted the position of Executive Director of the Edgebrook Chamber of Commerce; and
WHEREAS, During his time as Executive Director, Bob can be credited with accomplishing updated monthly newsletters with increased advertising and revenue, creating a new Edgebrook Chamber of Commerce website, improving social media, increasing promotional events and business after hours networking events, the annual golf outing, Chamber Street Festival, Edgebrook Parking Lot, and working on filling empty storefronts, especially on Devon Avenue; and
WHEREAS, His ability to communicate and develop relationships with the Edgebrook Community, community leaders, elected officials and all relevant parties, contributed greatly to his success as Executive Director; and
WHEREAS, Bob's hard work and diligence will certainly be missed. He has earned the respect of not only his colleagues and those working under his direction, but also of the grateful public at large; and
