WHEREAS, Daniel Shannon has retired after many dedicated years of serving the City of Chicago at the Chicago Department of Transportation and the Chicago Department of Water Management; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of this milestone by the Honorable Patrick D. Thompson, Alderman of the 11th Ward; and
WHEREAS, The citizens of this great city of Chicago were fortunate to have had in our midst, Daniel Shannon, a dedicated and hardworking employee who has served for twenty-six and a half years; and
WHEREAS, Daniel Shannon now finds himself with a new purpose in life to devote more time to his wife Catherine and family and to impart to them the values that have carried him so successfully through life and to expose his family to the fine culture and richness of history that Chicago has to offer; and
WHEREAS, Daniel Shannon has helped many throughout his career and will be greatly missed by all. He has touched many people with his courage and intellect. We wish him well in all future endeavors and the best of luck; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members of the Chicago City Council gathered here this thirteenth of March 2019, do hereby offer our heartiest congratulations to Daniel Shannon on his retirement and extend our most sincere gratitude for his twenty-six and a half years of service; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be prepared and presented to Daniel Shannon.
