MEMORIAL RESOLUTION FOR ESTELLA D. SMITH
WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that the members of this Chamber learned of the passing of Estella D. Smith; and
WHEREAS, This esteemed body has been informed of her passing by die Honorable Toni Foulkes, Alderman of the 16th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Estella D. Smith "Stella G." was born to the union of the late Margie and Howard Smidi in Chicago, Illinois on May 30, 1974; and
WHEREAS, Estella attended Paul Roberson High School. She accomplished many wonderful things during her lifetime; and
WHEREAS, She came to be known affectionately as "Stella G", and is remembered for her devotion to her family and being a strong and powerful woman; and
WHEREAS, Estella leaves to cherish her memory her loving sons, Parrish and Dyqwuan; daughter, Tierra; grandchildren, Paris, Kayden and Asher; sisters, Joyann, Joyce, Sheila, Renee and Margie; brother, Gregory; dear friend, ELmanucl "Bugz," and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends; and
WHEREAS, Estella touched the lives of all who knew her through her lively spirit and wisdom. She will be deeply missed, but the memory of her character will live on in those who knew and loved her; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and Members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, assembled this twentieth day of September, 2018, do hereby extend our heartfelt condolences to the family of Estella D. Smith.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution are presented to the family of Estella D. Smith as a sign of our honor, gratitude, and respect.
