MEMORIAL RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that members of this Chamber learned of the death of Alan Deibert on August 28, 2013; and

WHEREAS, The City Council has been informed of his passing by the Honorable Margaret Laurino, Alderman of the 39^th Ward; and

WHEREAS, The beloved husband of Charlotte; loving father of Nicole and Lori; treasured grandfather and friend of many, Alan was an active and vital member of his community; and

WHEREAS, Alan who leaves a legacy of faith, compassion, dignity and love, joined our Lord in heaven after a valiant two and a half year battle with cancer, to bask in the warmth of our Heavenly Father's love and presence. As his granddaughter Ashley stated "Grandpa now gets to play golf everyday with all of his friends in heaven"; and

WHEREAS, Alan will be deeply missed, but the memory of his character, intelligence and compassion will live on in those who knew and loved him; now, therefore,

Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, gathered here this sixteenth day of October 2013, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of Alan Deibert and extend to his family and friends our deepest sympathy; and

Be It Further Resolved, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Alan Deibert.
