RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The Honorable Thomas R. Mulroy, a widely admired member of the judiciary, recently appeared on the cover of CBA Record, the official publication of the Chicago Bar Association; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of this event by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Thomas R. Mulroy became a Judge in 2007 and is the current President of the organization; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Thomas R. Mulroy was hailed in a profile in the magazine as "an instinctual mentor and a forward-looking leader with a clear vision for the CBA's future"; and
WHEREAS, A native of Winnetka, the Honorable Thomas R. Mulroy earned his law degree from Loyola University and served as an Assistant United States Attorney for the Northern District of Illinois; and
WHEREAS, In 1976 the Honorable Thomas R. Mulroy joined Jenner and Block where he rose through the ranks and became both a partner and served on its Executive Committee; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Thomas R. Mulroy practiced at Jenner 85 Block until 2001 when he founded his own law firm; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Thomas R. Mulroy joined McGuire Woods in 2003 where he worked until 2007 when he became a Judge of the Circuit Court of Cook County; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Thomas R. Mulroy is married to Elaine and is the father of three children, Thomas, Kevin and Heather and is the proud grandparent of three; and
WHEREAS, The hard work, sacrifice and dedication of the Honorable Thomas R. Mulroy serve as an example to all; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members of the Chicago City Council, assembled this sixth day of September, 2017, do hereby congratulate the Honorable Thomas R. Mulroy on this well-deserved recognition and do hereby extend our best wishes for his success as President of the Chicago Bar Association; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the Honorable Thomas R. Mulroy.
