RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Lottie Mae Daniels was called from this life to eternity on August 13, 2014, at the age of 85; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has been advised of her passing by the Honorable Anthony Beale, Alderman of the 9th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Lottie Mae Daniels was born on December 28,1928, the fourth of seven children born to Willie and Eva Douglas; and
WHEREAS, raised in Chicago, she attended public schools, graduating from Wendell Philips Academy High School; and
WHEREAS, in 1948 Lottie Mae married Henry Daniels, and their marriage was blessed with the birth of six children: Arnold, Emmitt, Anthony, Paul, Victor and Muriel; and
WHEREAS, Lottie Mae Daniels was a loving mother and an enthusiastic homemaker, devoting her time and energy to the raising of her children and providing for their wellbeing; and
WHEREAS, Lottie Mae Daniels became a member of the Apostolic Church of God, where she worshipped enthusiastically and delighted in the music; and
WHEREAS, Lottie Mae Daniels was known for her abundant collection of hats, in every style and color. A traditional and proper lady, she believed that the correct chapeau was the perfect complement to any outfit; and
WHEREAS, Lottie Mae Daniels was preceded in death by her siblings Artis, Grace, Irene, Alene, Tho|nas and Telmage; and by her sons Arnold and Anthony. She is survived by her children Emrnit, Paul (Barbara), Victor (Nina) and Muriel; nine grandchildren, seven greatgrandchildren, her sister-in-law Gloria, many nieces and nephews, and numerous friends; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED that we, the Mayor and members ofthe City Council ofthe City of Chicago, assembled this 8th day of October, 2014, do hereby honor the life and memory of Lottie Mae Daniels, and extend our most sincere condolences to her family and friends; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that suitable copies of this Resolution be presented to the family of Lottie Mae Daniels as a sign of our sympathy and good wishes.
