RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Peter R. Sonderby has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of 75; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
WHEREAS, Peter R. Sonderby was a widely admired member of the legal community and a renowned expert in securities law; and
WHEREAS, A native of Chicago, Peter R. Sonderby was the son of a Chicago Sun-Times reporter and raised in the Beverly neighborhood; and
WHEREAS, Peter R. Sonderby graduated from the University of Illinois where he also earned his law degree; and
WHEREAS, Peter R. Sonderby moved back to Chicago following law school where he worked as a Partner with the Chadwell & Kayser law firm and later with the Keck, Mahin & Cate law firm; and
WHEREAS, In 1994 Peter R. Sonderby founded his own firm and a decade later affiliated with the firm of Ulmer 8s Berne; and
WHEREAS, Peter R. Sonderby served as the President of the Northern District of Illinois Court History Association, an organization dedicated to recovering, preserving, and promoting the history and artifacts of the U.S. District Court; and
WHEREAS, Following his retirement in 2012, Peter R. Sonderby traveled the globe with his wife; and
WHEREAS, The hard work, sacrifice and dedication of Peter R. Sonderby serve as an example to all; and
WHEREAS, His love of life and ability to live it to the fullest endeared Peter R. Sonderby to his family members, friends and all who knew him, and enabled him to enrich their lives in ways they will never forget; and
WHEREAS, Peter R. Sonderby was an individual of great integrity and accomplishment who will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by his many relatives, friends and admirers; and
WHEREAS, To his loving wife, the Honorable Susan Pierson, his son, Christopher, his two daughters, Kathleen and Jennifer, his brother, Michael, and his eight grandchildren, Peter R. Sonderby imparts a legacy of faithfulness, service and dignity; now, ther...
