At the request of the Commissioner of Housing and Economic Development, I transmit herewith ordinances authorizing the sale of the city-owned property.

AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE NEGOTIATED SALE OF THE VACANT FIRE HOUSE AT 3500 W. 60TH STREET
WHEREAS, the City of Chicago ("City") is a home rule unit of government by virtue of the provisions of the Constitution of the State of Illinois of 1970, and as such, may exercise any power and perform any function pertaining to its government and affairs; and
WHEREAS, the City is the owner of the approximately 6,673 square foot parcel of real property improved with a vacant fire house located at 3500 West 60th Street, Chicago, Illinois, and which is legally described on Exhibit A attached hereto (the "Property"); and
WHEREAS, public notice advertising the City's intent to sell the Property appeared in the Chicago Sun-Times, a newspaper of general circulation, on June 5, 12 and 19, 2012 at a listing price of $180,000, being the market value as determined by appraisal; and
WHEREAS, no bids were received; and
WHEREAS, public notice advertising the City's intent to sell the Property again appeared in the Chicago Sun-Times, on April 25, 2013, and May 2 and 9, 2013; and
WHEREAS, two bids were received for the Property; and
WHEREAS, the higher of the two bids was submitted by Jean Paul and Laura Burgos (collectively, the "Grantee"), 3449 W. 59th Street, Chicago, IL 60629, in the amount of Eighty-One Thousand Five Hundred and No/100 Dollars ($81,500.00); and
WHEREAS, the Grantee intends to convert the vacant fire house to a single family residence for the Grantee's personal use; and
WHEREAS, the Property was marketed by the City's real estate broker, Jones Lang LaSalle...
