City Council November 21, 2017
RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Gisselle Castillo-Veremis was born on October 8, 1970 in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic; and,
WHEREAS, Gisselle Castillo-Veremis graduated from the University Iberoamericana in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. She continued her studies in Santiago, Chile obtaining a degree in pediatric dentistry; and,
WHEREAS, From 2004-2006 Ms. Veremis worked as Assistant Director in the office of Tourist Promotions in Chicago; and,
WHEREAS, During 2006, Ms .Veremis worked as Vice-Counsel at the Consulate General of the Dominican Republic in Chicago, further being promoted in 2007 to Counsel General of the State of Illinois and the Mid-East of the United States; and,
WEHERAS, During her position as Counsel General, she has been able to promote different dimensions, foreign investment, and education in the Dominican Republic; and,
WHEREAS, In 2011 she was elected President of the Association Counsel Iberoamericana in Chicago (ACIC) and held 3 terms; and,
WHEREAS, Gisselle Castillo-Veremis is married to Peter Veremis, and has two children Juan Diego and Stavros Xavier; and now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, gathered here this 21st day of November, 2017 A.D., do hereby congratulate Gisselle Castillo-Veremis on her accomplishments for the Dominican Community; and,
