City Council June 17th, 2020
RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Mary Jo Slattery has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of 67 to her eternal reward; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of her passing by the Honorable Patrick D. Thompson, Alderman of the 11th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Mary Jo Slattery, loving mother to Tracy (Pat) Hayes, Jill (Tim Geers) Slattery, Tommy (Jacqueline) Costas, Michael (Leanne) Costas, Billy Costas, and Marc (Courtney Dowling) Costas. Adoring grandmother to Cecilia Hayes, Reese, Lanie, and Gavin Geers, and Maura and Conor Costas. Devoted daughter to the late William and Eileen (nee Goggin) Slattery. Dear Sister to Bill (Barb) Slattery, Sally (the late Ray) Setina, Patricia (John) McBroom, Jim (Peggy) Slattery, and the late Richard Slattery. Cherished aunt, cousin, and friend to many.
WHEREAS, Mary Jo a lifelong Canaryville resident and St. Gabriel parishioner; Mary Jo was a long time Jewel employee and former aide at Graham School; and
WHEREAS, Her love of life and ability to live it to the fullest endeared May Jo to her family members, friends and all who knew her, and enabled her to enrich their lives in ways they will never forget; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and members ofthe City Council ofthe City of Chicago gathered here this seventeenth of June 2020, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of Mary Jo Slattery and extend to her family and friends our deepest sympathy; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Mary Jo Slattery.
