RESOLUTION


WHEREAS, James B. Waters, Jr., has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of seventy-three; and

WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and

WHEREAS, James B. Waters, Jr., was the loving and devoted husband for forty-five years of Judy, nee Frye; and

WHEREAS, James B. Waters, Jr., was the much-adored father of Jacqueline, Jennifer, Jeanine, and James, III, and the cherished "Papa" of five to whom he imparted many of the fine and noble qualities that he possessed in abundance; and

WHEREAS, James B. Waters, Jr. was the dear and beloved brother of John L., Penny, Priscilla, Patrice, Nancy and Marianne; and

WHEREAS, James B. Waters, Jr., served with distinction for forty-one years as the Executive Director of the Chicago Policemen's Annuity and Benefit Fund; and

WHEREAS, James B. Waters, Jr., was a former employee of the City of Chicago's Treasurer's Office; and

WHEREAS, Throughout his career, James B. Waters, Jr., fulfilled the highest and most noble traditions of public service; and

WHEREAS, The hard work, sacrifice and dedication of James B. Waters, Jr., serve as an example to all; and

WHEREAS, His family, friends and faith were of the utmost importance to James B. Waters, Jr., who was devoted to his parish St. John Fisher and served them in a variety of roles over the years; and

WHEREAS, The importance of education was taught to his children at a very early age, continued throughout their lives through college and higher educational degrees, and they have begun to teach their own children the lessons of their father; and

WHEREAS, It was his love for the sport of baseball that most remember James B. Waters, Jr. for. It began at an early age for him while playing with his brother and lifelong friends on an empty field, which later led him to coaching little league and teaching many to love the sport as much as he did, and culminating with his favorite team, the Chicago ...
