City Council July 30, 2014
RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Domingo Martinez was born on December 19, 1954 in Fajardo, Puerto Rico; and,
WHEREAS, His parents moved to Chicago, Illinois bringing him to start a new life, when he was a 5 year old toddler; and,
WHEREAS, Domingo Martinez attended school here in Chicago, graduating from Tuley High School, which was located at Hirsch and Claremont; and,
WHEREAS, In 1989, Domingo started his career with the City of Chicago as a Motor Truck Driver; and,
WHEREAS, Domingo has decided to retire and leave the City of Chicago, where he will be able to enjoy playing baseball and displaying his classic cars; and,
WHEREAS, He will now be able to spend priceless time with his children Mingo Martinez, Charlene Martinez, Aida Gomez & Juan Gomez, along with his six (6) grandchildren; and,
BE IT RESOLVED, That we the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago gathered here this 30th day of July in 2014, do hereby congratulate Domingo Martinez on his 25 years with the City of Chicago; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be prepared and presented to Domingo Martinez, as a sign of appreciation.
