RESOLUTION


WHEREAS, James Angsten has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of 68; and

WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and

WHEREAS, A resident of Tinley Park, James Angsten was the loving husband for 40 years of Pamela; and

WHEREAS, James Angsten was the much-adored father of Tim, Jamie and Suzie and the grandfather of rune to whom he imparted many of the fine and noble qualifies that he possessed in abundance; and

WHEREAS, A native of Chicago, James Angsten graduated from St. George High School and Western Illinois University; and

WHEREAS, James Angsten earned a master's degree at the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana; and

WHEREAS, James Angsten began a long and illustrious coaching career in 1971 at Montini High School in Lombard; and

WHEREAS, In 1978 James Angsten became a defensive coordinator for the St. Rita High School football team which won the state championship that year; and

WHEREAS, James Angsten was named St. Rita High School's Athletic Director in 1987 and served in that position until 1994; and

WHEREAS, James Angsten was inducted into the Chicago Catholic League Hall of Fame in 1994; and

WHEREAS, James Angsten later coached at Homewood-Flossmoor High School and at Joliet Junior College; and

WHEREAS, A man committed to excellence who maintained a high level of integrity, James Angsten gave of himself fully to his family and was a loyal friend to many; and

WHEREAS, James Angsten inspired the lives of countless people through his great personal goodness, charity and concern; and

WHEREAS, The hard work, sacrifice and dedication of James Angsten serve as an example to all; and

WHEREAS, His love of life and ability to live it to the fullest endeared James Angsten to his family members, friends and all who knew him, and enabled him to enrich their lives in ways they will never forget; and

WHEREAS, James Angsten was an individual of great integrity...
