RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The Honorable Raymond L. Jagielski officially celebrated his 25th Anniversary as a member of the judiciary on December 7, 2017; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of this milestone by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Raymond L. Jagielski has been the Presiding Judge of the 5th Municipal District of the Circuit Court of Cook County in Bridgeview since 2011 where he supervises 24 judges and oversees the court operations of 35 municipalities and 15 other government agencies; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Raymond L. Jagielski previously served in Traffic Court, the First Municipal District and the County Division; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Raymond L. Jagielski graduated from Wabash College and John Marshall Law School; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Raymond L. Jagielski worked briefly as a teacher at St. Rita High School before serving from 1981 to 1989 as an Assistant Cook County Public Defender; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Raymond L. Jagielski was the Chairman and a Commissioner of the Chicago Board of Elections from 1989 to 1991; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Raymond L. Jagielski worked in private practice from 1989 to 1992, the year he was elected a Judge in the 14th Judicial Subcircuit; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Raymond L. Jagielski was retained as a Judge of the Circuit Court of Cook County in 1998, 2004, 2010 and 2016; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Raymond L. Jagielski has been the recipient of the Jurist of the Year award presented by the Southwest Bar Association and the President's Award from the Advocates Society; and

WHEREAS, The Honorable Raymond L. Jagielski has been married for 39 years to his loving wife, Donna, and is the father of Raeonna and Ray Jr.; and
WHEREAS, The hard work, sacrifice and dedication of the Honorable Raymond L. Jagielski serve as an example to all; now, therefore
