MEMORIAL RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that members of this Chamber learned of the death of Regina D. Kwilas, nee Majewski, on July 13, 2014 at the age of ninety-two; and
WHEREAS, The City Council has been informed of her passing by The Honorable Margaret Laurino, Alderman of the 39th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Born on August 5, 1921, Regina was the beloved wife of the late Henry P; loving mother of Rene (Dave) Banta; dearest grandmother of Alec and Claire; dear sister of the late Mary (Robert) Kluck, Sophie (Walter) Pietrowicz, Helen (William) Sefcovic and Edwin Majewski; fond aunt of Marianne and many other nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews; and cherished friend to all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Regina leaves a legacy of faith, compassion, dignity and love; and
WHEREAS, Regina was an active and vital member of her community who touched the lives of all who knew her through her kindness, generosity and spirit; and
WHEREAS, Regina will be deeply missed, but the memory of her character, intelligence and compassion will live on in those who knew and loved her, now, therefore.
Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago gathered here this thirtieth day of July 2014, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of Regina D. Kwilas and express to her family and friends our deepest sympathy; and

Be It Further Resolved, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Regina D. Kwilas as a token of our honor, gratitude, and respect.
